Pastor: Bob Knowles
Bob began serving as pastor at First Baptist Church Albany in October of 2012. He has a Masters degree in Theology from Dallas Baptist University and Bachelors degree in Religious Education from Howard Payne University. Bob is passionate about seeing people become growing followers of Jesus Christ and frequently stresses the importance of discipleship in the church. While Bob is gentle in spirit, he enjoys a good fight, having once competed in amateur boxing, and currently learning the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Bob is married to his wife Julie and together they have five children: Seth, Salem, Sage, Shafer, and Sadie. (They did not plan on beginning all their children's names with the letter "S", it just sort of happened.)
 
 
Music Minister: Kyle Viertel           
Kyle Viertel began serving as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church Albany in 1994. He is a graduate of San Angelo State University with an undergrad degree in BME. Kyle's heart is to equip and lead our church family to worship and praise the Lord with our whole heart and being. Kyle is Married to Sherry Viertel and they have 3 children, Adam, Mackenzie, and Suzete. 
 
 
Youth Minister: Thomas Aly            
Thomas has served on Staff at FBC Albany since May 2014. Thomas and his wife Jordan married in June 2013. He is passionate to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with students and grow them into disciples who make disciples. He enjoys spending time with his wife, playing board games, watching ESPN, camping, and foreign missions. Before FBC Albany, Thomas served as the Missions Intern at SouthSide Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas. He graduated with his undergrad degree in Ministry with a minor in Missions from Hardin Simmons University. 
 
Church Secretary: Carolyn Waller  
Carolyn stepped into the role of secretary in August of 2013. She earned a BSED degree from Texas Tech University and a Masters of MLS from North Texas State University. She is a retired school librarian, but is still involved with Shackelford County Library. She is married to Robert and they have two children, Robert and Will. She teaches Sunday school and is involved in Wednesday night children's programming.
